My first equine memory is of feeding my great uncle's champion hunter chaser Baulking Green pears during his retirement. I was hooked and have worked as a groom, stud hand, stud secretary, racing secretary, and I am also an award winning racing journalist.
Although I completed a Foundation Course at my local Art College, it wasn't until I was recovering from illness that I rekindled my interest in art by participating in a bronze casting course in 2005. Since then I have undertaken many commissions, enjoying the challenge of working in three dimensions.
In 2006 I won the Society of Equestrian Artists Devon Art Week Scholarship and have exhibited with the SEA since 2007. Promoted to Associate Member in 2012, I have twice been the SEA Honorary Secretary, and have been Chairwoman and Press Officer since 2013.
I have particpated various Open Studio events, sharing with fine artist Michelle McCullagh SEA, winning Somerset Art Weeks Visitors Favourite Venue in 2010 and runners-up in 2011. In 2012 it was Dorset Art Weeks and then Marlborough Open Studios in 2013.
In 2013 I donated auction prizes to the British Horse Racing & Education Standards Trust, Women In Racing and the Homing Ex Racehorses Organisation Scheme (HEROS). In February this year, 'David' raised funds as part of Greatwood Charity Race Day at Newbury .
